PROGRAM/FOCUS
This month, we have invited Legislators Marty Anderson and Janet Petersen to share with us their concerns and hopes for the Iowa Correctional Institution for Women. Please come with your thanks and your hopes for the prison. The budget is tight, and there are many needs. Bring your ideas for how to stretch it to make the maximum impact.
RECAP OF NOVEMBER 2016 MEETING
In November we welcomed Jamie Strasser Ross, a formerly incarcerated women who has made a successful reentry. At the age of 16, Jamie went to prison and served 8-1/2 years. She spent six months in work release and six years on parole. She has been out of prison 13 years. She is now married and has two sons. She works as an optometry technician.
